AIEC’s Interfaith Dynamics: Navigating Gender, Sexuality, and Environmental Complexities.
Master thesis, Master Religion Conflict and Globalisation.
Abstract
This thesis discusses the intersection of religion, gender, sexuality, and climate activism within the Interreligious and Spiritual Alliance for Climate (AIEC) in Chile. It explores how faith-based perspectives engage with environmental and societal challenges, including climate change, gender, and sexuality issues. The study aims to understand how different faith actors collaborate within the AIEC while holding varying views on gender and sexuality matters. The research methodology involves desk research, participatory observation, and interviews with select alliance members, focusing on their perspectives and contributions to addressing global issues.
